Welcome to my website!

I’m very proud to announce that I have accepted the position of Assistant Professor of Music at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX.

I currently serve as the Director of Jazz Studies and Coordinator of the Fiesta Jazz Festival. It’s a very exciting opportunity that I could not pass up! I’m home and am excited to be working with my students and colleagues at this esteemed institution.

In collaboration with the Claudio Roditi Jazz Archive, I have authored and transcribed the first six of what will be a series of 24 books aimed at preserving the legacy of Roditi's work after he passed away in January 2020. Claudio Roditi's musical contributions have inspired countless jazz musicians and fans alike, and I'm proud to have the opportunity to share this volume of work, which is published by qPress Music Publishing. Please visit the qPress website for more information.
The Adrian Ruiz Quintet's debut recording, Premiere: A Collection of Originals, is available for purchase!

Scott Yanow, acclaimed jazz journalist/historian and author, states the following:

"Adrian Ruiz is an impressive trumpeter who makes his recording debut as a leader on Premiere.
...In addition to being a fine showcase for the Adrian Ruiz Quintet, Premiere: A Collection Of Originals, is a fun set of creative jazz that is easily recommended."
